The Store Is Back... by David Thomas

I added simple prints to include more budget-friendly choices for those that aren’t looking to spend so much for a big metal print or canvas print…. The links should take you out to Printique’s site to peruse the choices and place the order.

I removed my Store.... by David Thomas

I started clicking through the options in my Store, and wow is Printique expensive!!!

I decided to hide that page until I find a quality substitute that isn’t charging over $100 for the most basic wall art prints. Stay tuned!

Botany Bay Preserve by David Thomas

I managed a day trip to a nearby preserve just south of Charleston, SC (on Edisto Island) and snapped some shots. No edits, as usual. It was nearly noon and low tide so the beach was accessible, so I made do with the bright sunlight. Vlog is on YouTube, blog is here…

The Store is Open! by David Thomas

Yes, it’s about time that I made an effort to make sales. Squarespace has a Printique extension, so that was the easiest way to create a place where you can purchase prints! Check out the Store, let me know what you think, and know that all of the images on here are mine, so I can offer any of them for sale as well. Cheers!

Family Session! by David Thomas

I had the chance to do a family session the other day, it was difficult light with the sun up high, so we stayed in the shadows…that way I could just lighten everything up!

As you will see, I had one non-compliant one, he cracked me up later when his Mom tried to take some shots, he kept avoiding my eyes no matter how hard I tried to get in his sight line, real belly laughs

There were a few light moments, like when someone threw a daddy longleg at her son…

And, of course, kids will be kids…

Work Travel in Ohio by David Thomas

Well, it’s that time again, where work has me driving through the farmlands of Ohio. I truly don’t mind…I like the scenery!

Here are some unedited photos, snapshots rather than anything I’d call “pieces” “works” or anything fancy… X-T1 as usual, with the fav XC 50-230 lens mostly, some shots of Indian Mill in Upper Sandusky are with the wonderful XF 35 WR 1.2.

Cheers!

The county fairgrounds are right next to my work location. I though B&W was the best here!

Did I Ever Mention My YouTube Channel Merchandise? by David Thomas

In a nice cross-promotion effort, let me introduce my Teespring sites: Cincinnati Dad and WordShirts.

I know I have my YouTube in the Galleries, but I haven’t blogged about it here. I hope you check it out and enjoy the silliness that is me talking to the camera entirely too much and too often!

As a way to capitalize on the channel, I launched a Teespring site, Cincinnati Dad. That led to me launching a second one called WordShirts for something I’ve thought for years could be fun: simple shirts of words that have no direct equivalent in English, but should, like hygge.

Now, as this is my photography and personal site, I’d first want you to buy a print or hire me to do something in front or behind the camera, but I think you’d look great in a Cincinnati Dad shirt and be cozy in a “hygge” hoodie!

Happy New Year, It's 2020 by David Thomas

Well, my website renewal came due and I made the tough decision to downgrade my plan here from a business plan to a personal plan. I wish I could say it was a savings, though, but because two important first-year-freebie offers ran out and I got 30% off as well, even downgrading my plan still made for about an $80 increase. No bait-and-switch, the Squarespace information was clear, but I had forgotten about part of it. If you pay annually, it’s cheaper than month-to-month, so it was a big hit all at once, right after paying for my Flickr Pro as well. Ugh.

I see no reason that this will affect your experience with the site, just being transparent! I suppose if I sell a few photographs that this will be a moot point, so, people, buy a print, would ya?

In the meantime, here’s an iPhone photo from my recent trip to Florida…
